Weren't your friends offered sponsorship in other states though - SA and NSW? Maybe EscapedtoNZ should consider doing the same?

Good on ya! Best of luck, I hope it works out well. Anecdotally I've heard that its very difficult to get employers to sponsor New Zealand citizens but you may get lucky and find one willing to help...
