Just to confirm, the last sentence was interpreted correctly. I received my Spanish license last week. Converted from UK to Italian in 2019 and then Italian to Spanish.

I did not say it was an offence, I stated that I was refused a hire car because they couldn't match my name to the address on whatever system they use. That mistake cost me 90 for a taxi to my hotel...

I don't think people understand the implications of not doing it right. I arrived at Stansted at midnight a few years back and was refused a car with Avis because they couldn't find my name matching...

Fingers crossed, yes. On the temporary license they observe that it's being converted from an Italian license. The Italian license showed my old UK license number on the back. Time will tell and...

It's not often I'll defend many people on here but.... you need to read the posts properly. I was the person who went yesterday and I converted my UK license to an Italian license as a former Italian...

Yes. I also managed to get my appointment for exchange this morning to go on Monday. Not sure why you’re surprised or suggesting it’s not a genuine situation. If you use agencies everything is quick.

Interesting, thanks. A colleague was issued with a 200 Euro fine last night for that exact reason. The DGT have told them it's not a valid fine, Policia Nacional say it is.

If you're stopped with a foreign license, even EU, and have over 6 months of residency you will be fined for driving without a valid license.

Some of the autovia junctions in Valencia have 6 lanes. If you're circumventing the city it's normal to have to cut from lane 1 to 6 in the space of about 200 meters and jump across the 7th lane...
