Yes, I gather from reading other posts that trying to import is a lost cause.

The original plan was to get the MoT and sell it again in the UK as I'd brought all my tools and stuff over.

Absolutely. I'm flying out next month to try and restart the project. I will have to leave again in late October to bring my van back to the UK for its MoT (the 6 month extension runs out then) and...
