Anyone know what happened at 11 o'clock today. Things were sort of stabilizing then a large spike uwars to just over 1.70. Looked on the business news web sites and couldn't find anything

And just when I start to think that I'm beginning to understand the markets, the UK drops interest rates and the Canadian dollar immediately starts lossing value against it.

OK, I give up. Looking at the minute by minute HIFX chart, why has the rate increased by 2c on a steadily increasing profile since the announcement.

As the experts have already said, it was probably already factored in because a 1% drop was rumoured. If it had only dropped by 0.5% then the rate would probably have increased.

But, who knows at...

I'm certainly not a financial expert (in fact the exact opposite if you look at the decisions that I've made over the last 10 years) but the drop in value of the Canadian dollar has sort of tracked...

Don't bet on it. We're returning to the UK and with my financial record it will probably be back to over 2.50 by the time we sell our house in Canada :(

You also need to do a bit of research about which dealers will sell to you if they know that the car is going to Canada. Honda and a few others have a class action agaisnt them for threatening to...

It may only be speculators, but as we saw a decade or so ago when the pound almost dropped to parity with the US dollar, these low lifes can cause a lot of damage.

Certainly a long term high...

Based upon past experience since I bit the bullet and changed cash this morning it should start rising again tomorrow :(
