When I started contributing some years ago, if you didn't meet this (2), you could still contribute (but maybe at class 3 rate rather than class 2). I expect it is still the same.

So you can't buy prior, but I don't expect they disqualify what you already had over 30 years, like S. did.

I don't think this is correct. All years will count, and he will need 35 to get a full pension.(at the new rate)

However, if his birthdate is before 6 April 1951 he will already have enough (30)...

High earners generally have other pensions too. The UK is fairer as at least the state pension is the same.

It would seem from this that once you've worked 9 years you'd better quit, otherwise your SS will be cut in half?
