Also the system shouldn't depend on whether you can or can not afford to pay, and it certainly should not bankrupt you if you needed medical help.

true, and less likely to have a place trying to scam the tax payer than a faceless insurance company, because you won't have the people not caring that way, so should decrease the excess you get at...

problem with that though, and admitted, the people were in high finance or IT, so not your average joe, as they would have been getting top insurance and that skews the view of the average middle...
