JAsh, Bangkok has been a UKVI hub for SEA region for a few years now. All visas have been processed here, perhaps accept the settlement ones.

My advice is to get hold of VFS Manila and if possible try to find some contact in the British Embassy to Philippines and get them fight for you. That's what I did and it helped.

We don't know for sure mystikal2k2a. The letter which is attached to my visa was signed by Sheffield but visa was stamped by Bangkok British Embassy. But Bangkok normally processes everything quite...

Then try to get hold of the British Embassy in Beijing. They can't be as busy as Sheffield. It's a good sign that yours is now handled by them.

From VFS and it's true that my application had been handled by Sheffield until last week when Bangkok took over, and the visas I received today showed that they were issued by British Embassy Bangkok.

Visa granted for both of us, me and my son. We will have to rebook the flight though as the visa will not be valid until 5 October. Officially over the moon.

Oh no so they really don't make it valid from the issuing date. I was hoping to be able to fly on the 3rd.

When we did the biometrics and had our documents scanned at VFS, we were asked to choose to come and collect the passports or get them sent by courier. I chose the first one. I never trust courier...

True, I did expect to receive the decision only a few days after that IHS payment request email but it turned out to be 4 weeks after.

I knew that I could not stand waiting for the passports to come by courier and to be fair, VFS office is just 15 mins driving so I will come and collect the passports myself on...

Yes I know we do all we can to at least comfort ourselves. But it's true this system really does make our lives the worst hell possible.
