Perhaps but existing Europeans do not need to apply in order to remain here unless they are applying because they have a UK spouse.

The larger majority of Europeans will not be having a UK spouse...

I am the UK sponsor for my wife and I am self employed.

It's just a hunch but I am guessing it's more work for them to review a self employed person's application and they are just being put aside...

This is my what I have learned but through raising a complaint with the Home office - "could mean anything, from them having to do some extra checks on one part of the application" but like you said...

Same with me and my wife, only difference we applied on the 28th of April.

We are hopeful of a decision by the 31st of October though.
