Did you ask the Malaysia office of AXA ?
My insurance is with bupa in Denmark, not in Malaysia.

I have bupa travel insurance, it's international and doesn't require any special local visa. Around 300usd yearly for travels up to 3o days.
Maybe better to buy insurance from non Malaysian company.
