I did choke on my coffee when she told me her neighbour had to drive her to the walk in clinic!!! I am a bad friend, the first thing I did was laugh myself silly :D

A friend of ours in BC managed to bear spray herself not long ago, didn't check for the wind direction when testing it out!

Hmmm, I think mace might be a bit too cosmopolitan and/or "street". Do you have Timmy's coffee to hand? That should do the trick :)

Probably, but do you have acid on you regularly? I always carry lock oil and alcohol hand sanitizer, perhaps they would work... :D

I think the salt and the devil thing came from the time when salt was very expensive and so it was a sin to spill and waste any. Throwing it over your left shoulder would hit the devil in the eye...
