You need to get an nie Number before you can buy in Spain And to Open a Bank account you need one as well as your Passport to get an nie you must go to the national Police at Jaén

don't think you will be able to pay your Ibi etc through your English account as well as your electric , water easier to
open a Spanish account I have one in Martos with Sabadell , non residents get...
