Agreed.

But one would've hoped that emerging economies skip the transition cycle (they will get there eventually) and just adopt good practices. Its not as if the UK is middle-of-nowhere solomon...

I am used to the norm where the buyer and seller each pay the same fixed percentage of the sale value to one agent- it is then upto that agent to split fees or not depending on number of middlemen...

Looks like the market there is tilted against the renters.

That would be very strange in a supposedly low market like now.

How easy is it to still give the agent the commission but talk to...

I have been tracking the websites as we reach there soon, however, there are mostly agents on these websites and it is not in their interest to lower the rentals as they get a lower commission.
