Hi, so now our plans have changed and we want to go to the UK next Sept / Oct - is there anything I should sign up for (Airmiles etc)?
Early bird prices are around $1700 with decent airlines...

As it turns out the $2500 flights are on Chinese airlines with a 38 hour journey time!, the nearest thing to decent (Etihad) is $3200 and that's economy.

I can't believe we went first class for...

I didnt find business class flights for $2300, they were economy!!
Since found flights for around $1700. Looks like the days of business or first are over for us :-(
At least we did first class...

Hi, it was Economy seats I found for that price, just searched bestjet.com
James went last year for $5000 but it seems a lot has changed in 12 months :-(

Yep we had the suites both ways, I cant imagine flying long haul in economy again!!

We went from Sydney on 16th to Bangkok (seat 1A and 2A) then on to London (seat 3e and 3f), came back yesterday

Thanks for that, I just changed my seats so I'm sitting next to the wife on the long haul Bangkok to London.

Yes but its a little bit of hassle as well, I was on the phone to the US for 1.5 hours changing my flights. It would be better to get it right the first time (I learnt by my mistake)

I changed our flights, now going via Sydney so 1st class all the way.
Flights from Sunshine Coast to Sydney and back with 30kg luggage cost just under $500
on the reservation it says Airbus 380 BKK...

The price of baggage wasnt the issue, the cost per person was.

What is the procedure and cost to change my flights to go from Sydney rather than Brisbane?

I did a search last night and 1 way is $135 per person, no $60 returns from Brisbane and as far as I'm aware there never has been

I looked into that but the cost of getting from Brissie to Sydney with heavy suitcases was too much
