Re: Me and My Family

Well, it's taken us seven years of A Philosophical Gentleman Abroad to get here. Critics may have panned some of the earlier seasons as flabby with weaker story arcs but wow haven't seasons 6 and 7...

Re: Me and My Family

Using Harvey Weinstein as an example of Men Who Did Nothing Wrong ... you've moved so far through credibility that you've zoomed through incredibility and I'm not even sure where you are right now.

Re: Me and My Family

Some crusties showing the horrid underside of their personalities here. The sort of expats who I love seeing get their comeuppance from the locals, when it inevitably happens. Why even bother...

Re: Me and My Family

Point taken and I've certainly bashed my own head against the virtual wall at a few of P11's decisions and obstinacy, but on the flip side he's dealing with it all now. In his place and with my own...

Re: Me and My Family

Look, P11 definitely fell victim to a sunk cost fallacy on the relationship that he has paid and is still paying, compounded by his wife's extreme and constant shifting emotional state.

I'm sure...

Re: Me and My Family

Bit of idle speculation but after six seasons of the Philosophical Periodicals I do wonder if LL shows signs of a Cluster B personality disorder: extreme mood swings, dissociation at times of great...

Re: Me and My Family

Healthwise, getting deported back to the UK for the next six months would by far be the best option.

Re: Me and My Family

COVID-19, P11. It's out of the bag now and will tear through these shanty communities who have no medical options other than dying in government emergency centres. The R-0 is 2-25 to 2.75 (each sick...

Re: Me and My Family

Asking drunk blokes to turn the music off anywhere is always going to end badly. Mix that in with the superior airs that a lot of white expats carry on with and that guy is lucky they didn't find him...

Re: Me and My Family

Haha this is great. AUD$130 per month to live there.

I know for a fact that you can get an entire very basic two room 'apartment' (8ish x 4ish) pretty much anywhere in Thailand that's not directly...

Re: Me and My Family

Probably good to remember that P11 was only providing us with the downside of his years there. Judging by all the grousing and moaning elsewhere in the thread, the Philippines must indeed be a beer...

Re: Me and My Family

I know several people in this thread would like nothing better that to have P11 come cap in hand and beg them for forgiveness for being so foolish as to not follow their advice from the get go, but...

Re: Me and My Family

This is a pretty good point, when I was in Vietnam with my grandmother in the early 00s, she flipped her lid when I insisted on travelling by myself (she was happy to stay for a month at her...

Re: Me and My Family

After 123 gripping pages of love, tears and attempted murder I finally feel compelled to log in and say something. Well, two things.

You can't set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm. And...
