I don't know as much as the others but: from what I can make out.....
Yes they are college based and modules that can be completed online

It's handy to know about all of these extra costs because it's something you don't necessarily take into consideration especially when you are moving for a better quality of life

That makes sense. I think it is more difficult because of the diploma vs BsC. It shouldn't but that's how they seem to operate over there. The lady from CARNA has said it will give me an advantage...

Good point! Perhaps I need to look into this route some more, however it's only NOC - B so would def need a job offer. I've already been emailing lots of places. Fingers crossed

The vacancies I have seen for an LPN in Vancouver are around $24 an hour. Which is double what a UK Hca would earn. It's hard to say without actually living there and experiencing the cost of living...

I'm seriously considering the LPN route just to get out there! The cost of flying my whole family over for 3 weeks to do assessments and then 4 weeks to do modules just seems crazy!

I've made a few inquiries to Alberta (CARNA) a really lovely lady gave me some great info: she also said it may be possible if you need just maternity/paeds to get a restricted/temporary license...

In a way it's good and comforting that people are going through rigorous assessment to ensure they are capable, but at the same time a nightmare for people making the transition!
