Your point about expats using a UK address when in fact their primary residence is in France was perfectly valid. I know plenty of people who have done that.

Jeez, I wish they'd stop saying "effect" when they mean "affect".

You can certainly open a Transferwise borderless account and use it to have your UK tenants' rent paid in. I'm with the Nationwide...

Calling out to Eurotrash (or anyone else who has a Transferwise Borderless account).
I assume this counts as a foreign bank account, to be declared in the French tax return?

Methinks Eurotrash is talking about the Transferwise Borderlesss Account and Malcolm is just talking about using Transferswise to do transfers.

Scrap my earlier suggestion re. Ulster Bank.
Turns out it’s only Ulster Bank in the ROI that’s wooing non-resident customers. And to open a sterling account, you have to already hold a business...

Incidentally, I just discovered that - at least up until now - Ulsterbank has been welcoming new customers who are not UK resident. I’m Northern Irish and can’t believe I didn’t know this.

I don’t have a Transferwise borderless account but have used them many times to do transfers. They were brilliant.
