As a hiring manager I would always ask people who worked at both my company and the candidate's company if they had any opinions on the candidate. Then HR would do the whole checking references stuff.

A family member of mine's life was protected as a direct result of carrying a firearm.

Much of my family live in a rural county where it can take a long time for a sheriff to attend an emergency.
