Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

It is Pakistan that is taking a lot of time.

What happens is, HMPO Livepool passes your documents to Pakistan for local checks.

But Pakistan is not in a rush to accomplish every thing. Because...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Thanks.

I actually wasn't as thrilled as I thought I would be. 14 months of waiting has sucked a bit of my optimism.

It ruined a lot of my plans and I had lost a lot of money because of it....

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

I contacted other MPs too, and they all said that they'll be following up with HMPO if ever I still don't get it.

Also prior to that email, I have also received this from HMPO Bangkok who did the...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

You don't have to apologise for anything. And really, it was nice to hear good news for once.

But you submitted from HK, a regional consulate/embassy, that's a given that it will be faster.

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

So is it the Consulate/Embassy, primarily in charge of verifying the documents?
Or does the HMPO directly contact the individual offices like NSO/ONS (National Statistics Offices for birth...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Mate, you and I are in almost in the same situation.

Except I'm still dual-citizen. My father and mother are both British but I was born in the Philippines.

Apparently, the UK has tightened up...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Well, I also got no other passports left. My only other passport, my Philippine one was submitted along with the application as with all my other documents.

Is this your first UK passport? Have...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Try that and good luck. I've given up with asking for updates and such. It's just a waste of time and money when HMPO will only reply back with their generic BS.

'I can advise you that your...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Same. My suggestion? Forget you ever had an application, then just get on with what you are doing now.

It's so that when you finally get news about passport dispatch, you'll feel like you've won...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Hahahahaha... I don't know if I should be laughing but I did. That comment was funny! But yes, I'm the most patient person you'll probably meet. Because I know that once I get a UK passport, the...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

I know it's the quickest way, but DNA test is still kind of invasive/breach of privacy and de-humanising. You're taking blood, a bodily fluid, that has DNA, the genetic structure of the person. We...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

I've applied on the 10th of April 2014. They have asked my counter-signatory around July, UK-based checks were completed on October. Around November, HMPO Bangkok contacted me and asked me questions....

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

1. I know they (HMPO Bangkok) are not supposed to reply. But they are the ones who are holding my application up, because they are taking very long with the local checks. Plus, they were replying to...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Same. It's been three weeks since my interview and no news.

HMPO Bangkok who did the local checks for my documents doesn't reply anymore.

I then called up Liverpool, but they sent me those...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

I'm born and raised here in the Philippines. I am applying for a first-time UK adult passport.

I did not send my mother's UK passport with my application. I sent HMPO certified/notarised copies of...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Your son's situation is similar to mine. My father is Brit and mother is dual-Filipina and naturalised Brit. I am applying for an adult UK passport.

Anyway, I had just had my interview at the...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

I'll be having my interview at the consular office here in Manila tomorrow. Currently fixing all my documents and such right now to present to the interviewer.

I think we have different sequence...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Ask me again within two months. I'll try to help you out.

4 months is still okay.

In the meantime, wait and be patient. Patience is a virtue.

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Those people that you speak to are merely call-centre agents from Teleperformance- subcontractors. They don't work directly for HMPO.

They're paid to answer your calls and act that way, but really...

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Just so you know, I have been waiting for 11 months. Though I have an interview lined-up this coming Tuesday.

Have patience. Four months is still around the 'standard timeline' for passports.

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

The only thing you can do now is hope for the best.

At least you didn't have to wait that long for a result, unlike most of us.

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas

Thanks. How long has it been since your husband's interview?

HMPO in Liverpool don't know much what is happening when it comes to overseas applications.

It's much better to contact the actual...
