Strange that they cannot get these interview done through their local offices!
especially since it anyway seems to be outsourced to India...

One problem with such laws & regulations is that they leave the interpretation of what is required to comply with the banks.

I had a similar experience, that is somebody calling me from a bank and then asking me to verify who I am.
