That's correct unless you lived in the UK for a continuous period of three years or more.

The only way to get British Citizenship for your child is for your whole family to come and settle in the...

Ganon was register as a British Citizen under section 4B of the 1981 British Nationality Act.

You cannot travel on an expired passport. You will need to apply for an emergency travel document from the British High Commission in Accra. Please see link below for details -
