Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

It would be great that status change for switching employers can also be so fast in near future.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

For Q2, I don't think that it is an issue when you see the VO while you still have a valid E-3. Or at least this was my case when I attended the interview in Calgary and she did not ask anything...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

If you don't have them ready, I think it is the time to prepare your other documents, such as education certificates, work experience evidence, tie to Australia and etc. - although based on other...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Why not somewhere in Canada? I saw someone claimed that he/she got the initial E-3 in Ottawa.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Don't know how it works in Jamaica. But for Canada, you just need to follow their steps to pay fee, add family member then book the appointment. It looks like each country has its own booking system...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

According to my experience, if you are going to attend the interview in Australia or Canada, yes you have the option to add your wife as the family member to book one appointment for both of you. I...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

For Q1, last year my first E-3 took 3 weeks to come back to my hand from Sydney Consulate General. It seemed that I was the only unlucky one within that batch. Hope someone else can give you a better...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

No. The GC requirement was one of the questions in the evaluation. You have to take the evaluation and reach it - if it is still there. If you lodge your tax return with a tax agent or accountant,...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

You can take the evaluation on ATO's website - it will tell you your status. Everybody's circumstances are quite different - it's hard to just say yes or no here.

Also in last year the evaluation...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Good question. Termination notice is the key thing here. That's the business nature. Probably on your entry back to US you can just tell them that you have resigned from the <old company>.

Luckily...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I am not. But E-3 is a multi-entry visa. My departure from US to Canada does not mean my E-3 with the original employer has expired.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

If you are referring to some transition period between employers, it is technically allowed. For example, as of today, I am still on my valid E-3 visa with my current employer although today is my...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Just had my 2nd E-3 visa granted yesterday during the interview in Calgary and its status is "issued" today. So hope I can pick it up on next Tues - see if I am lucky.

My time frame of this visa...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Did anyone withdraw his/her application of Change Of Status (I-539)? How was it done?

My current job will end on Mar 29th and the new company will start applying for LCA on Mar 24th. So if there...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

The earliest visa appointment is available after 61 days in Vancouver as of today - although someone may cancel his appointment to give you an earlier chance.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

LCA does have an option of "Rate of Pay" per Hour. So it sounds like the pay is not an issue. I guess the thing is if you offer letter explicitly says that you are a full-time employee.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I am in process of reaching the new opportunities but haven't got the...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

It's really painful.

Another painful period I experienced is waiting for my passport back with the visa stamped - it took 28 days after the visa interview.

Although the visa officer confirmed...
