Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

Now you engage in name calling.... jerk...legalised troll - whatever that is. From what I have seen, your biggest contribution to this forum has pretty much been limited to the "Maple Leaf". Not...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

Why don't you go back to the "Maple Leaf" forum where you can better understand and appreciate the subject matter? :p

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

The notwithstanding clause is controversial to be sure, but it wasn't Quebec that insisted on it. Alberta (Premier Lougheed) did that. The reason was because the provinces didn't want the Feds to...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

Wouldn't that be redundant? :p

Oh, and you should check your facts - others shouldn't have to do that for you.

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

"Disallowance" is a Federal power that is considered obsolete. If it were to be used it would nullify provincial legislation. Currently, Quebec only has to use the "nothwithstanding clause" in the...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

No let's not, opinions are opinions and facts are facts. Don't you know the difference? It's amusing that you can't back anything you have said.

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

I agree, Canadians held their noses and voted for Harper due to Liberal Party (Quebec wing) corruption. If Harper isn't real careful, he could get voted out at the next opportunity if the Liberals...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

Sorry, but you clearly don't know what you are talking about. Quebec has no more "powers" than any other province. Other provinces (like Quebec) have made immigration agreements with the Federal...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

Law is under provincial control? It depends just what laws you are referring to.

Criminal Law is exclusively under Federal jurisdiction. That's a very big deal indeed. Plus, the PM has the...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

After reading through your list of dislikes, I have to ask, why do you live in Montreal? Why not move to another, more desirable, part of the country?

BTW, the PM of Canada has a whole lot more...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

Yes.... and don't forget that Fischer-Hallman Rd N. all of a sudden becomes Bearinger Rd.... or that Westmount Rd. suddenly goes around a bend and becomes Northfield Rd.

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

I lived in Red Deer for 8 years. Within a given city, one road has one name - it may not be continuous though, because of a river for example. Edmonton is like that too - watch out for the river...

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

^^^ FYI, if you go west of southern Ontario in Canada, you don't get the humidity, or the air pollution. Toronto is the most expensive airport in the world.

Re: Perhaps someone could tell me nicely what they like/dislike about Canada?

There are some regulations: if a car is spewing pollution, the police can stop it and ticket the driver.

Before a car from another province (used) can be registered, it must pass a safety...
