It varies depending on the country and the office. I tried to send a passport via LBC here and my local branch said "no way". went to another branch, no problem! DHL here have no problem either so...

When I've used LBC from here they always insist on checking the contents. sounds like you were lucky. I've learnt to never seal envelopes etc until the LBC or DHL reps have inspected it. My UK friend...

Received new credit card just before Xmas, sent via DHL. Had been opened as had the bank envelope inside. presumably the Xray showed the chip on the card? nothing missing and still only took 3 days...

If it wasn't for the fact that one of the sub division guards goes to Consolacion PO daily and collects mail, which they then deliver, we would never know if any mail had arrived for us! apparently...
