I would suggest that anyone who needs a ssn read this page before going to the office. And perhaps read the whole page. And choose the correct option on the left side first....

I have questioned this with the office.
They simply state that the social security number is required for people entitled to work.

In Austin, L2 won't be given a SSN until they have their EAD.

You know you can't get an ssn until the EAD is through?

I think from looking at your posts that this was 2012 though?

I also got my ssn pretty much immediately but I think now it's after the EAD because they will only issue them to people who can work.

well, this is why I'm asking. I got my ssn within a week on an L2 but the website just reads like you can't get a ssn unless you have a visa to work, so they could make you wait until you get the...
