looking at the nest lock, I think it is a very nice piece of work. I like that there is no key access- no way of picking the lock. As for when the house is sold - at least 18 months away if not...

I have to replace my front door keyed deadbolt... (DD's wallet got stolen with key + Driver's license ie our address) .
I'm thinking of going with the nest yale lock.

usually you have to have had them installed by a local contractor to qualify for the rebate. So, at best, the rebate covers their costs. It's an easyish diy job.

yes most people have them uncovered. Everything is waterproof, rust resistant etc. A few have the pumps solar powered so will build a covering over it on which to place the panels.
