I think there is quite a bit of pressure behind the need to translate public speeches.
It's almost like if we wanted to show we are not so bad with English, although it only proves the opposite.

I find the English pronunciation of "bolognese" particularly amusing :rofl:

...on the other hand I've been living in UK for nearly 6 years and sometimes I still slip on some easy words like "city"...

Bear in mind that what I wrote above is only true for spoken language.
It's inconceivable to write down something without using the past remote. It would look as ridiculous as if you used the past...

It's not commonly used in the spoken language.
Maybe in the South a little bit more than in the North, but it doesn't mean they are not going to understand you if you don't use it.

I guess this is a bridge sentence between a description of the provvedimento and what it entails under criminal law.

The only way "lei" can sound "offensive" is if it's used to address a person that's slightly older than you, but still clearly young.

But this only if you're sensitive to your age...for example I...
