I've spoken to the Liverpool team. The guys who pick up the call are rude. Insist that you want to speak to their manager. The managers will give you the whole story of your passport.

I was told that ETD cannot be applied because it is the first passport.

I had a reply from someone in the Home office with the same garbage "16 weeks blah blah blah"

They might as well hire...

My MP has the same replying frequency as the Passport enquiries team. He also sent me an email to say he will get back to me when he gets a reply from the Passport office :)

They have been trying to eliminate fraud happening with passports being applied and the they themselves have people stealing passports. Great!
BBC can do a 1 full day documentary on this passport...

I've been waiting for around 10 weeks now. 10 days for them to send your passport ? This whole thing is a joke.
When did you apply for your passport and when was the payment taken ?

My son was born in December and still hasn't come to UK. I believe at this rate he will come here and straight away start working for the passport office

Yes I believe it is for people who are not in UK. Like if you are settled else where and applying for your kids first passport you have to go to the embassy.

They have started asking people to go to the local embassy with the baby. This is a new delaying tactic from them.

ukpa have emailed me apologizing for the delay. They are telling me now that without the application reference number they can find anything.

My Nephew got his passport in 3 days in India!
They probably have to learn a lot of good things from other countries!

I have been emailing and tweeting people as I go back home everyday to just an empty house. I should be with my kids and wife rather than sit alone because of some incomptent people in the Liverpool...
