When we came here 6 years ago (as early retirees) we were required to get a social security number before we registered with the NHS but this is no longer required however some centres still don't...

Everyone has problems with Portuguese bureaucracy! ;)

Joking aside, Portuguese NHS care is now solely based on residency & nothing else so get that & you're automatically entitled to the same care...
