yes, exactly that, but I was suggesting the Wise account in answer to your comment:
"Yes we may come up against that with my husbands small private pensions with Prudential"

Have a look here at "Wise" accounts which may help. Many poster use Wise to transfer money to Spain.

One of my private Pension providers will not pay into a Spanish account only accounts with a UK IBAN so I have it paid into my "Wise" account (with UK IBAN) who then transfer the money changed into...

if you have a look at reply #6 from Fred James he has agreed. Fred is somewhat an expert in tax matters. Perhaps Fred could give an explanation about 2nd home taxes.

The Spanish tax man will automatically assume that you will be renting out the property and apply taxes to the (assumed) rent.

From what I understand, expats who still own property in the UK are paying tax on "assumed" income from letting the property even though its not being let. Is this correct?
