Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

So glad to hear it :)
It is a shame they all have to stay up there because of the vet here. I certainly would get my money back.
I wouldn't worry - I am sure they will be the same after a few...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

Bit harsh for someone trying to do this by herself :frown:- although I do understand what you are saying.
I talked to our vet about it and she really didn't know too much although she had done the...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I must be stupid, but I don't know what AKL and CHC means :o

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I am sorry, but I think at this point it is YOU who are being rude :frown:.
Poppy was just giving her opinion after all from her experience.

Common sense would tell us that if the crates are...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

I agree - sounds like he just wants to make more money!

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

That probably is best.
Are you going with air animal or doing it all yourself.
They will come (for a fee of course) and pick them up from your house and take them to the airport.
It is a lot,...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

That is one thing they do suggest - an unwashed shirt or something.
I know it is worrying - I would be scared to death until we got there and saw them. I would spend the whole flight wondering how...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

If she is in good shape - she should be ok - have you talked to the vet about it.
I have used those chewy stress recieves on Toby, but they don't seem to affect him either.
They won't allow an...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

That was what air animal said - either ice cubes or fill with water and freeze.
Our little dog loves ice cubes and eats them - under those circumstances he may not touch them at all though.

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

When they brought him out into the baggage area he was standing rigid, legs spread, panting and shaking. His nose was white crusted and I don't think they'd given him any water at all (the rules were...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

So glad all went well and you are back safely. I think it would be a bit/lot stressfull for our pets as well, which although more expensive - I would opt for the least amount of time and confusion...

Re: New DEFRA Regs from January 2012

That would be one of my concerns with the cats - one of which is an ex-feral - as well.
Maybe you could ask to take them to a separate room while where carriers are being checked - you would think...

We have 3 cats and one small dog (8lbs) Largest cat is...
