Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

You may have to enter as a visitor and then go to the border / make an appointment at an inland office to become a PR. That was the experience of someone I know recently.

Another option is to...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

I don't think you need to worry. The sponsor info is on the COPR. I've seen exactly this before and the Applicant landed without issue. However, others may think differently. Letter off Place of...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

Personally I'd be sending scanned colour copies (front & back) of the child's certificate by Webform:

IRCC Web form (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp)

ensure you quote the...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

I have just scanned through the last four pages of this thread (didn't look very closely), but couldn't see any reference to the new text message pilot for family class applications. If you...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

Personally, I just wouldn't even go there, unless it's a "life or death" which from what you're saying it isn't. If I'm reading you correctly, it's just inconvenient because you may not be "ready"...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

You can't extend a COPR. See this link which although is aimed at Provincial Nominees gives the same info:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/arrival.asp

Also I think it says...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

+1

Yes. One of the first things you should do after landing is to make a PDF copy. If you get your passport renewed, remove the COPR before you send the passport in for renewal.

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

You'll get one stapled into your passport. It will get you back over the land border (in a private vehicle) but it won't be sufficient to get you on the plane.

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

Don't chance it. Get yourself informed and research the options. It will be very stressful if you are denied boarding.

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

eTA is supposed to be cancelled upon becoming a PR. There's the option of flying back to the US if you don't have a PRC but if you have a US ESTA, and crossing the US land border in a private...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

- See an accountant for your taxes for your first year if unsure
- you don't reapply for PR: you remain one until:

- an official determination happens which decides you no longer have that...

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London

The case I knew of where the person's marital status had been put as single (but was married) was already in Canada so just had to go to the POE to land.
