re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

OK, final points;
English exam:
At the exam I met two guys, both in their 50s (one from Derby and one from Sydney), who said they failed the IELTs and this was their second try - they hadn't done...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Well I guess the $1400 (or whatever it was - it's been so long I've actually forgotten) we each paid isn't money enough to have the application processed in a timely manner. If the government got...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

As I mentioned in the previous post I am not blaming the visa officers. I am blaming the government - who are likely not hiring enough visa officers/facilities/resources to cope with the processing.

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Perhaps. I don't subscribe to the "just be grateful no matter what" approach here. Driving is a privilege. We can agree that spousal sponsorship is "the easiest" route to Canadian PR - and for...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Not exactly. You can do what other people are doing and complain to your MP - they at least seem to be taken seriously. The fact that the running mantra is to "have low expectations so that you...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I see the posts telling people to "hang in there", not sure if I agree. Best have a backup ready because they seem to enjoy making people wait. The whole process seems like an elaborate joke. I know...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Best of luck to your too Stuabroad! Glad it all worked out for you and it appears that the mixups with your file didn't delay it by much (i.e. 4 months)! In fact, considering my file was in London on...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Seems like, relatively speaking, there's been very little updating of the spreadsheet the past six weeks or so by applicants earlier in the year (May to July). Could it be people who received their...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

No, look through previous posts, I think everyone has that "status". They're really taking their time with the London end now though, a few have gone through from August arrivals (to London office)....

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Yes, this is what really gets to me. If they sped up the process, they would benefit from the economic contribution. People like me are here locked into one employer (via WP), and I get numerous...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Hey guys, regarding the common law applications:

Just out of curiousity, those letters we provide from "witnesses" or family/friends who say the relationship is real, etc... do they get contacted...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Isn't the Missussauga stage just to confirm that the sponsor is eligible? I think you'd be best to send the document to London once you get AOR and a file number - that's the part where they validate...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

It's all good! Given that the process takes so long I guess we can't help wondering what was different. Perhaps you had a "high-ranking" job qualification? Something that set you apart from the...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Thanks, well, if they have any sense, they'll know I could have applied as both experience class and federal skills also, so it's hardly worth it to contrive a relationship. Medicals all good (had a...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

What's the feedback on how often people are asked to go to London for interview? I don't forsee any major difficulties for my application as such, but just wondering what the liklihood is of being...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

You notify "everyone?" I haven't notified anyone. I suspect some of my cousins don't even know I'm in Calgary. I just made sure I didn't have any outstanding bills. I'm kind of a private person,...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I applied outland although living in Calgary - I did my medical at a local doctor (there were 5 or so "approved" for CIC here). I think it was around 220 or something for the examination. Everyone...
