Of the films I have seen recently this was one of the more enjoyable. But I still cannot take the portrayal of Victoria as a Polly-Toynbee Guardianista too seriously !

The term "Indian Mutiny" to describe the events of 1857 is no longer used in India.

Remember that History is written by the Victors. The Victors in India have not turned out to be the British !

I enjoyed the film. It certainly portrayed the court circles and entourage round QV as a bunch of racists. i suppose that was the norm in 19th century Britain - only 30 years after the so-called...
