All dogs get an annual rabies jab - its the law - and councils are usually quite particular about this. If dogs are not brought to the 'jab site' then the vet will visit the home - and charge extra....

In a village situation cats are useful to have around but not to own (i.e. have the responsibility of any vets bills) because they keep the mice population in check.

Over here chicken feet are used with the giblets to make chicken soup. At our place after the stock has been made the bones go to the cats and dog - after the marrow has been put on the toast![/left]

Chicken bones can splinter when raw but should be OK after cooking as this softens them.

Are you sure that they are the neighbours cats rather than feral cats which inhabit the area and stick...
