Yes, the pre-law degree might be a factor. I suppose it could also be the much smaller and narrower economy in Canada. There's a huge media sector and finance sector in the UK which attracts...

But you would think if he was qualified to PhD level in vet he would aspire to more than a neighbourhood clinic? Maybe be involved in the food chain or vet science?
