Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

"reaching out" - have never really liked this (fairly) new (fairly) American phrase for contacting someone. It sounds too physical, like extending one's arm. I tend to use "get in touch" but have...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Well that's a positive. In that case higher regional pay would induce some doctors to make the move. Why not talk to your MP, you can't be the only one with this issue in Red Deer, and the...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

China must almost certainly see this as a window. I wouldn't say leaders don't care, more that they don't want to lose their own troops to conflicts that do not directly concern them.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I totally agree. When I say interesting, I mean reprehensible. I was thinking that "Freedom" ought to be rebutted with "Freeloader" (in the anti-vax context). "Freedom to oppress" is accurate too. ...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

It's interesting that the protestors have co-opted a kind of Canadian nationalism and "freedom" in their endeavour. I suppose it's as easy/cheap to wave a Canadian flag as the Brexiteers found it to...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Odd that biggest civil protest in recent Canadian history is stuck in the Random stuff thread. Doesn't it deserve its own thread?

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
