We pass the houses of those you refer to every time we return to our villa.
One vehicle has spent at least 8 years in Portugal another 3.
I suspect they spend their time in expat bars complaining...

Transfer of ownership has to be registered , bet your life the reg no has file just to catch anyone thinking of dodging repayment of tax.
