Ok. Hopefully don't offend anyone :eek: This is just my opinion depending on what I'm comfortable with as a place to live with young kids.........

Avoid most places directly South of Wellington...

Good idea to steer away of the touristy things. You've been here before and done a bit of that. Doing touristy things would be a waste of valuable recce time.

A week and a half isn't a long time...
