There is no overall yearly exam in UK Primula - the kids are examined at age 16 (GCSE) in the subjects they study (which must include maths and english). They get a separate grade for each subject. ...

Ideal world it should be the parent's job. Mind you in UK there are woolly thinking morons who want to start sex education for 5 year olds.

Yep Jon spot on - I organised a big race in Rome and they could not understand the idea of putting a placeholder in the calendar a year in advance to inform the overseas runners.
