Did you document that she could pay your expenses, or simply claim that she would? The I-134 with supporting documents that Rene suggested can be important.

The consular officer can't...

It sounds as though you failed to sufficiently document that your girlfriend is both willing and able to pay for your visit when you made your visa application.

And perhaps your agenda...

I beg to disagree. I think the situation is exactly as TAJ reported that the consular officer told him - he can't afford the trip, and so for whatever reason he wants to visit the USA it's...
