I can't say for 100% sure, but I don't think you need to inform them. Though I do know for a fact that during spousal sponsorship it isn't necessary that you have money or a job to be able to sponsor...

You likely won't hear anything for a while. You'll get an email or letter when you're sponsorship approved or if they require more information. You probably won't get any sort of confirmation that...
