I can't say for 100% sure, but I don't think you need to inform them. Though I do know for a fact that during spousal sponsorship it isn't necessary that you have money or a job to be able to sponsor...

Hopefully! We received out sponsor approval end of May, and we're in process now. Should be any day for COPR I think!
