For what it's worth, Malcesine, I don't think they should keep him back, not at 7 years old. He's got plenty of time to catch up and settle in at his age, before things start getting serious....

Lorna - all I can say was that you were very lucky with your school (as I was too with mine) but I don't think it's possible to find a school like that today in the UK. Those types of school, I think...
