Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

Indeed, mea culpa. Emails being saved as drafts suggest that's a problem at his or her end rather than with the Home Office. I would suggest sending a letter by whatever method they are asking...

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

They can't insert a vignette into an expired passport. Once they've made a decision on your application they'll contact you to replace your passport.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

Sending 487 pages probably doesn’t help your cause. There’s no mention of the processing times for spouse visas lodged in Brazil so I’m not sure where you are getting 30 days from. Three to six...

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

They have no obligation to you whatsoever. Emigrating to a country other than your own is a privilege, not a right. No-one is forcing you to move to the UK so drop the sense of entitlement.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

Something the Home Office could do is manage expectations better. If you say 30 business days and it takes six months then people will get aerated. If you say ‘six to twelve months depending on...

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

You will get a decision. How long it will take is often dependent on factors outside the Home Office’s control.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

It’s a statement of fact, not opinion. High risk circumstances lead to lengthier processing times. Me saying “Boo, hiss, evil Home Office” would be both disingenuous and unhelpful.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

The ‘non-straightforward’ email is very often a delaying tactic but if you’re been waiting a year then it’s your circumstances that will be holding your application up. The Home Office hasn’t just...

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

Of course. If your circumstances mean you are a higher risk then you will be assessed accordingly which usually means it will take longer to process your application.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

The long waits are frustrating but not arbitrary. If you’re waiting more than six months then it’s your circumstances that are to blame, not the Home Office.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

You cannot use an Academic IELTS test to meet the English language requirement. You’ll need to take the appropriate test and reapply.

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

Re: Spouse visa delays 2018?

It's nothing to worry about. Depending on how and where you applied from you may not hear anything until a decision is made.
