Your mother doesn't need have ever held an Italian passport. If she was born in Australia and therefore received her Australian citizenship by birth then that would not result in her losing her...

Italian ancestry is one of the best ones as it can be passed on indefinitely to descendants born outside of Italy providing you have the paperwork to prove it. You should therefore be able to obtain...

If your grandparents or even great-grandparents were born in Europe then it's an angle worth exploring. It would all depend on which countries they emigrated from and if it were possible to obtain...
