One thing that slightly irritates me is hearing my country pronounced OARstralia by those who inhabit the SE and likewise MelBOURNE when it should be Melbun, GEElong when it should be G'long. :D

Yes, different regional accents (e.g. Sydney slightly different to Melbourne), class accents, city accents, country accents, ethnic accents etc, etc just like anywhere else. :D

It is patent nonsense to give one reason (eg failures) as to why people emigrate. A moment's thought and a quick Google search will throw up a multitude of reasons which don't apply equally to all. ...
