Maybe, who knows. I think any strategy the discourages binge type drinking is good - i know first hand how damaging it can be. I do suspect that this is the start of addressing give away type deals...

did you tell the cod that? Atlantic cod is different to the cod they get out here. Maybe something to do with diet????

I hardly think its an epidemic, but certainly more socially acceptable here. I have said this on here before, after 4 years of street level policing, i expereinced way less issues with those who had...

The pricing would impact heavily discounted, stronger drinks, effectively almost doubling them in price. No more 65 p cans...more like 1.20cans...

taxes are actually quite decent. I suspect they are actually a bit lower than the UK and Europe in general.

Where is this 350 k home in Vancouver? I'd double that and add 10 percent...yes you are right, if one is servicing a high mortgage, things could be tight. Certainly an average wage won't cut it here,...

Great post...agree 100 percent. Life is a crap shoot....who knows where it will come together...Teddington on Thames, Vancouver or God knows where.

I doubt that's really true. I dont think they ever really existed in the first place. Outside of some areas (as already noted), most buildings were temp frame buildings in areas that had very low...

inferior....not really thought of that way. Left the UK 25 years ago...not sure what there is to be inferior about. I defend here as much as others defend the UK. Someone has to. This is my home....

I doubt most people move for a 'change' ...most likely for a better life (rightly or wrongly), career opportunties, or to be with a loved one (as was the case with me).
