Yes gas is petrol. Diesel isn't available at every garage - and I think it's more expensive (never checked so I might be wrong on the price). I don't know anyone that drives a diesel. :)

FWD, 4WD and fat connections?

For me it's all about a car that doesn't break down and doesn't slide about in the snow and is big enough to get a huge dog...

Yes the roads are that bad and handwashing is an absolute no no because its too cold! A few hours after washing your car it will look filthy again! We do ours once a week in winter to preserve...
