Wax ear plugs that I got from Boots back home are fantastic. Total silence.
Never seen them here.

Funnily enough, kids on dirt bikes really annoy me.

Some neighbors don't realize that their annoying noises don't stop at their property limit. And that it's the Murican Way to impose their life choices on others.

Very handy, used them decades ago. Haven't really seen them.

Yes, Generally grocery stores though.
Still plenty of them around.

The supermarkets here no longer give free plastic bags for human stuff.
However if you pop into PetSmart next door and buy cat food first, then you can get free bags there.

Some of the shops here started self scan but then stopped it for whatever reason.
For the ones who have it you can't buy alcohol at them.
(Not sure about vanilla essence...:unsure:)

In Costco it's part of the agreement that you allow receipts to be checked.

WalMart however, has no right to check your receipt.
They can ask though...

Wal Mart receipt checkers...
I swear...sometimes the sheep queue up to have their receipt checked.
I never engage...probably get banned at some point.

My wife's Kindle is attached to her...she stresses if she can't find it.

Went to school without it one day, @ 30 or so miles round trip...rushed home to get it.

I hate that. CNN is one of the worst. (Although I've all but stopped going there after their recent redesign shambles.)

Large and small. Even Costco didn't have them. And they're usually well supplied.
