I know food prices are stupidly high at the moment , but I do think a couple on their jolly holidays should have something a bit more appetising for tea than munching on each end of a telegraph...

We are a bit hot and humid today. Good for tomato and sweet corn ripening. These are grown outside.

I suppose the over the odds thing is that the price may seem extortionate if one is used to cheaper prices.
The UK would get NZ fruit and veg at a cheaper price than NZers can buy it . Tomatoes are...

Yes we will. We have quite a good barter system going on. Helps no-end now we are on NZ state pensions.



I hope it sells quickly also.

We grow our tomatoes and veg outside here . Would be...

We are on Moutere clay. My parent's house was on Turbary clay. I agree , it can be rock solid to the degree you can sculpt little figures and let them dry in the sun.

Well I did think it might make the bread a bit soggy . There again MrBEVS will eat the most odd combinations given half a chance. Probably would use the cheese sarnie to mop the tinned toms. :sick:....

I agree with some of this but not all of this . We live in a market garden area and see the toms , cucs and lettuces being grown all year round in exactly the same way. I really must try to stop...

Me too. Loved his post style. However someone didn't get it and I believe it was suggested that as he had moved from NZ , that he not post anymore. Big shame that he took any notice of that...
