Has the opioid crisis not reached your area yet? When we first arrived in our sleepy town 5 years ago, we had neighbours who told us they never locked up, although we did.

Good for your dog that she's cautious when seeing a bear! A neighbor had her little terrier (maybe 6 pounds?) slip out the back door and tear into the woods after a fox, barking its fool head off. ...

The dogs around here go crazy whenever our local fox is about. And the fox has grown bold (--or has realized dogs are restrained by leads) so it doesn't scarper at...

True, we avoid sliced cheeses as much as possible. For cheddar, we mostly go for the supermarket-brand blocks of aged cheddar, which are not (IMO) nearly as tasty as those from British...

I think "European" (style) cheeses made by certain American companies tend to have a slightly softer (or more rubberlike) consistency. This applies especially to the packaged cheeses sold in slices.

My children played with them too, years ago. I always thought they provided a more benign & childlike image than Barbies or some of the other "dolls"... like the Brat dolls....
